Kayla Montgomery is a runner on her High School Track team. She is ranked 21st in the country for the 3,200-Meter race and she won the Class 4A NCHSAA girls individual station championships in 2013. But what makes this Senior track star so amazing isn't her portfolio of race wins; in 2009, at just 14 years old, Kayla was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of Multiple Sclerosis.
Kayla suffered an injury during one of her soccer games and shortly thereafter experienced a loss of feeling in both of her feet. For a period of eight months, her legs had a bluish color and felt
cold. She had no feeling from her waist down. After time and medication
helped she began to slowly regain sensation in her legs. For a period of eight months, her legs had a bluish color and felt

likely never be reversed. Whenever she races hard, Montgomery’s legs go
numb, but that doesn’t stop her from running.
Watch this girls incredible story here. It's only 12 minutes long, but I promise it's worth every one of them. You will be inspired by her determination and courage and amazed at how supportive and wonderful her coach is. If Kayla can run through her difficulties, I don't really have any excuses left. What an amazing duo!
